Last week we had the pleasure to attend Nexis Involve – the conference which unites Nexis users, Nexis partners and of course the vendor itself. It was our first visit and we were a bit unsure what to expect as a content, as a spirit, etc. The announcements before the event looked more than promising – a lot of interesting presentations, people to meet and topics to be discussed.

The trip itself was a bit long. Since Regensburg is not connected to the long-distance train network in Germany, after we got off the plane we had to wait forty minutes for the regional train and then another ninety minutes for the trip itself (Ivan even missed the first two lectures, since he was travelling in the morning). The town itself was very nice, having a medieval flair and being located on the Danube (another connection with Bulgaria).
The location of the event was quite unusual for such a conference since it was a… stadium. At first we were sceptical, as we couldn’t imagine how it would feel, but it turned out it matched the spirit and the company itself.
There were many interesting presentations the first day but my absolute highlight was the roadmap presented by Matthias Hummer and Michael Kunz. There were four distinct directions where the product was evolving:
- NICO – the Nexis chatbot, with the vision of guiding users and raising data quality
- AI Governance – governing AI agents and Non-Human Identities like currently the human identities are governed
- IVIP – further development of the Identity Visibility and Intelligence Platform
- Dynamic Authorization – regarding the policy-based access
We had a great discussion and got a really good feeling about how the product is developing.
Also the presentation of KOGIT was real nice. Sven Hübner and his colleague gave a real world example of an IT ecosystem where Sailpoint and Nexis are present – something really relevant for us as well.

The evening ended at the Regensburger Dult, the local equivalent of Oktoberfest. We had a lot of fun with the other participants and even found our new talisman.

The second day started with a traditional Bavarian breakfast and interesting customer presentations, the highlight of which was the usage of MCP in order to connect the AI the customer was using to the data of Nexis in order to enhance user usability and get faster information.
All in all it was an amazing event and we are surely going to attend it next year.
